It is always preferable to change cylinders outdoors. Changing should only be done indoors when absolutely necessary. Make sure there are no sources of ignition nearby, such as open fires, boilers, electric heaters, pilot lights, lit cigarettes and so on. Also make sure that the appliance is switched off - unless you have a twin cylinder installation with a a cylinder changeover valve.

|Disconnecting the old cylinder
Turn the switch anticlockwise to the OFF (nine o'clock) position.
Except for twin cylinder installations with a changeover valve, turn off the gas tap if fitted to the appliance. WAIT until the burner and pilot light have gone out.
IF THE FLAME DOES NOT GO OUT - TURN THE SWITCH BACK TO ON, LEAVE THE APPLIANCE ALIGHT AND CONTACT YOUR GAS SUPPLIER.
For installations with a changeover valve it is only necessary to switch off the empty cylinder.
NEVER TURN THE SWITCH TO THE DISCONNECT (SIX O'CLOCK) POSITION STRAIGHT FROM THE ON (TWELVE O'CLOCK) POSITION.
Depress the centre button of the switch. Keeping it depressed turn the switch anticlockwise to the DISCONNECT (SIX O'CLOCK) position and lift off the regulator.
REPLACE the orange safety cap onto the empty cylinder or part full cylinder if not in use.
Connecting the new cylinder
These cylinders take a regulator which incorporates a switch for the on/off control of the gas supply. No spanner is required. The following instructions are specifically for the 182H regulator. Alternative regulators may differ in the method of operation. In such cases please follow the accompanying instructions.
Turn the orange cap so the arrow is pointing to the gap in the shroud.
Remove the orange safety cap by pulling the lanyard out, then up. Do not use tools. Leave the cap hanging.
Check that the black sealing washer is fitted inside the cylinder valve. Place the regulator down over the valve with the switch in the six o'clock position.
Turn the switch clockwise to the OFF (nine o'clock) position.
When gas is required, turn the switch clockwise to the ON (twelve o'clock) position.
